University of Cape Town Students Learn the Open Standards

South Africa_UCT CB class 2017

Students in the University of Cape Town’s Conservation Biology Masters course had a fantastic experience learning the Open Standards in July. Coach Genevieve Pence led a two-day training workshop as part of a Conservation Leadership module. Workshop highlights included the use of diverse real-world examples, break-away exercises that allowed for creative approaches, and facilitation and leadership tips incorporated by Genevieve.

The students hail from around the world, and while their interests, perspectives, and expertise vary widely, all agreed that the Open Standards workshop was informative, useful, and enjoyable. Many felt that learning about the Open Standards gave them a conceptual understanding of conservation in practice along with the skills needed to apply their experience and learning to real-world conservation scenarios.
